Paul A. Bird
My father, Paul Ashton Bird, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 24, 1944. He married my mother, Christine Cook on February 19th, 1965 and later studied second year Turkish at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, during the summer of 1965. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 20, 1968. My father had a great zest for life and lived throughout the U.S. and enjoyed travelling abroad. His great loves included his family and friends, his Ducatis, books, house on Duchess Street, and dear cat, Lucy. He moved from Sacramento to Kalamazoo in October of 2006. There, he worked as a financial advisor for Oppenheimer and enjoyed exploring the state of Michigan. He is sorely missed and adored by many friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members. My daughter, Lauren and I plan to restore his rental house in Kalamazoo to commemorate him. His donation was made to the Michigan Eye Bank after his courageous battle with heart disease at the U of M.
