Andrew Hugh Yackel

Im Andys dad and he loved to deer hunt and fish with me and its not the same without him. His laugh and his hugs are missed. He has such a loving and giving spirit.I was honored to be able to talk about Andy at his funeral. I spoke how the name Andrew was from the Greek Origin meaning manly. I talked about looking up angel and found, not surprising of course, that one of the definitions was a messenger of God. Ah Andrew ~ a manly messenger of God. Which I truly feel he was. Andy was a gentle and caring soul with a very big heart. Simply…he loved us and we loved him. He “knew” we all needed him and I firmly believe that this was his mission in his very short life. He always checked (via his trusty phone) on us and truly cared how we were even though sometimes he wasnt doing so well himself. We miss his calls. We miss our Andy ~ our manly messenger of God!
