Bob LaPlante
As his wife, I can tell you Bob LaPlante was a wonderful man, loving husband, family man and proud navy veteran. He always had a smile on his face and was very caring and would never say anything bad about anyone. He loved talking about his time in the navy and served aboard the USS America and loved displaying the American Flag. Bob even taught me and my girlfriends how to count in flight deck.He loved playing baseball and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.Always willing to help, Bob found it difficult to sit still. Working in maintenance much of his life, he’s the type of guy that had to find the reason why something was broken—take it apart and try to put it back together again. He loved Halloween. He was good at negotiating to the store people once Halloween was over, to get that price down on the big witch display to add to the yard. A few years ago, a lady came by right before Halloween and told us, “My two little boys insist on coming by ‘the scary house’ every day while the decoration are up.” That made his day.His sudden death at the young age of 52 was very devastating to me and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will always celebrate his life, will always miss him and will always love him.
