Brenda Belt

This quilt is in honor of Brenda who is dearly missed by all her family after her unexpected passing, but most especially by her three granddaughters, two children, husband, siblings, and parents. The Gift of Life has enabled each of us healing in some way on our grief journey knowing even though her death she was able to help someone in need. Brenda spent her life always thinking of others and will always be remembered for her gentle, compassionate spirit.  She was also an imaginative soul that was at her best when her creative juices were flowing, whether it be through crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking, cooking, or playing piano, but was always happiest in the garden. The photo shown on the quilt square was taken during the last year of her life. In fact, she had said she felt as though she was in heaven that day as she enjoyed the sights, scents, and sounds of her sister’s garden. We like to imagine this is how she spends her time now, joyously admiring the flowers in heaven. Our intension for the quilt square was to capture her bold and unique sense of style as well as her love for nature.
