Dave Oliver

My quilt square has a photo on it of my husband Dave that was taken at his 40th surprise birthday party. It also includes a poem written by my niece, Dayna. She wrote this poem and sent it to me via email because she couldn’t make Dave’s funeral. It was so beautiful that I decided to have my other niece, Danielle, Dayna’s sister, read it at Dave’s funeral. When deciding on what to put on Dave’s quilt square, I remembered the poem Dayna had written and chose to include it for everyone to read it. Dave was a cornea donor. He had such a wonderful way of looking at life with those beautiful brown eyes of his. I just hope that whoever received his corneas is seeing life as beautifully through them as Dave did.
