Gerald Gillett

Little did I know when I labeled this photo “Last Ride” that it truly was. I twas October & Gerald or Mike (as he was called) was taking the boat out of the water for the year. Of course Buttercup had to be with him. Mike’s occupation was a car hauler (new Cadillacs), not a truck driver since he said it takes a special person to do the job. We have a 5th wheel that he used as seasonal at Middle Lake in Hastings and also traveling out West and down South with it. We loved Tybee Island, GA! Mike always deer hunted even if he wasn’t feeling the best & during the warm months we always went fishing together. In the early years of our marriage we went to reenactments as an 18th century fur trader. He had a flint lock muzzleloader that was hand made by a friend. Mike’s pride & joy was his 1968 Road Runner that he bought new while he was still in high school. He always talked about how much trouble he & his best friend would get into because it was just “SO FAST!”
