John A. Haskin

Among many other talents and interests, John was an avid sailor and owned several boats during his life.  A native of Traverse City, he loved sailing on the great Lakes.  The background photo here pictures “Shrink Rap”, the last sailboat he owned moored in Grand Traverse Bay.  In his professional life John was a psychologist and loved a good pun, this the boat’s name!

The small origami sailboats in the square symbolize his surviving nuclear family: his wife, his four daughters and his sister.  The organza “veil” over the square (also printed with the photograph) gives additional dimension to the image and protects the origami sailboats.
