Kenny Standish
It’s the “little” in life that we remember about a person or a loved one, like my brother Kenny, soft in heart with blue eyes and a calm smile who always wore a Detroit Tigers t-shirt with the symbol of that tiger showing gripping teeth. His honesty remains with my family and me today and grips our heart with the magic that he was. Strong in his love for his family, he took care of our grandmother until the day she passed into another realm and he saw to it that our parents were cared for with his soul. He loved me, his sister, too, and his brother and we have always known silently how much we mattered in his life. He lit Harvey’s life, his last beagle, as well as many other animals with respect and dignity. May Kenny, our brother and son, light a far vaster doorway and may the stars shine on his soul so bright, he left us light! May the recipients of Kenny have a wondrous Journey! (A “thank-you” to Lucy Lea Brown for her help in making our special quilt square.)
