Lawrence Schrader
Larry loved the outdoors and spent all free time enjoying its beauty. Background is navy blue with stars representing his love of the wonders of the universe and what lies beyond. To his youngest grandson he is “the man in the moon.” The green fern represents his love for the forest which surrounds our home. He taught his young grandsons how to pick “winter berries” and how to tap the “sugar trees” and make maple syrup. The tee-pee represents the 40+ years he camped out and hunted with his “buds”. They actually did construct a tee-pee and still use it for “hunting camp” every year. The butterfly represents the very last thing we did as a family, visiting the butterfly exhibit at the Frederick Meijer Gardens. We both loved the gardens! And finally, the flower on the square is from my wedding dress. We were married over 37 years. We were high school sweethearts and spent most of our life together. He was a nurturing man who really loved his family and the simple pleasures of nature.
