Mark Davis
This Square represents only a piece of Mark’s life. Mark LOVED anything and everything to do with the outdoors – he lived life to the fullest, and had no regrets in the end.
Earlier last year (2011), Mark requested that his mom make him a snowman quilt. The quilt she was making had a new square for each month. We chose this square because it was August – the month that Mark passed away. We also chose it because it had two of Mark’s favorite things on it: snow and fishing! It also had one of OUR favorite things about Mark on it – the smile on the snowman’s face. Mark’s smile and laugh would light up a room…… You could not stop yourself from joining in every time you heard it, or saw it. It would warm your heart just by listening to it.
Mark would base his schedule by the month – he would reserve them as follows:
Jan – March or April: Snowmobile season
May – Sept: Fishing, bonfires, family vacation
Oct: Bow hunting
Nov: Rifle hunting
Dec: Christmas all month
So in other words – I had to plan our family vacations around his schedule!! Haha
My only wish is for the people that received a transplant from Mark, go outdoors and look at the world that GOD created in a new way. LOOK at that beauty!!!! Live each day to the fullest and remember – life is truly a gift, don’t waist a moment. Remember to tell the people you love “I LOVE YOU” – you might not get another chance.
