Shirley Kowalk

Shirley battled with pulmonary fibrosis for four years and lived to help others until the day she passed away on May 25th 2009. Her wishes were to donate any organ possible to help save the life of someone else. By the end of her struggle her eyes where the only useable organs. A week before she passed away she had cataract surgery to be sure another person would be able to benefit from them. Shirley once said “if I’m not going to be able to live why not help someone else live by donating”.
