Stephen May
Stephen May was an extraordinary young man from Belmont, Michigan, and attended Rockford High School. Stephen participated in numerous school and community activities and sports, and was strong in his Catholic faith. Stephen’s life was cut short when he passed away from a tragic accident on April 28, 2010 at the tender age of 17 just a month before his high school graduation. Stephen was an honor student and participated in varsity football, basketball, and track. Stephen was very honest, had a great work ethic, and was a dependable and loyal friend to many. Stephen would have attended MSU in the fall of 2010 to study business. Stephen lived his life every day extending love and respect to everyone he encountered. He expressed unconditional kindness and compassion to all and was an example of those virtues to others by accepting and celebrating each person’s uniqueness. He always used the term “ELE” tor “Everybody Love Everybody” to encourage kindness and acceptance to others from his peers. Since the time Stephen created a Facebook account a few years back, he had ELE posted on his profile to share the message he believed in. He truly was a leader with the philosophy. In line with Stephen’s ELE, “Everybody Love Everybody,” philosophy, Stephen’s last gift to others, whom he didn’t even know, was organ donation through the Gift of Life and Michigan Eye Bank. We know beyond a reasonable doubt that Stephen would have been the first to volunteer to help save lives or improve the quality of life of others who were waiting for transplants. We are honored that our loving son, brother, grandson, and nephew lives on in others whom he helped through organ donation.
