Tom wore many hats throughout his life. Husband, farmer, veteran, retired land surveyor, feisty Irishman, but his favorite was “Grandpa.” He loved to play with is girls, Jordan “the princess,” Alexis “the duchess” and “Queen” Victoria. With his gift of life donation of his corneas now two Michigan ladies can watch their grandchildren grow and play through “Tom’s eyes.” Thomas is my father. He was one of the most kind and loving men I have ever known. He was many things to many people…father, brother, husband, uncle. His greatest joy is displayed in this quilt square though. He loved being a grandpa to his three favorite girls. They adored him. I saw him act like one of the kids on more than one occasion. I truly believe that he is happy knowing that some one else can continue to see their loved ones because he donated his corneas. I miss him every day. I find comfort knowing that some where the ol twinkle that was in his eyes is still shining.
