Jon Arntzen

The design of the quilt square is inspired by Jon’s tattoo he had done in honor of those killed on 9-11. Jon was in the Pentagon on 9-11 and was able to escape the building but a few days later, after a blood clot lodged in his brain stem, he spent the next 9 ½ years paralyzed as a result. He was a proud American and also proud to let everyone know he planned to donate his organs. He passed away Nov. 28, 2010 as a result of his conditions. His corneas were donated. We are comforted by the thought that someone now sees the world through his eyes.
