Collin James Rose
Collin James Rose was a Wayne State Police Officer, and a member of the K-9 team. Collin was also a fiancé, son, brother, partner and friend to many. It was rare to see Collin without his infectious smile. He always had a boomerang greeting, and if he knew you, you had a nickname. Collin’s personality and enthusiasm filled a room.Collin knew early he wanted to be a police officer, and quickly learned that he needed to earn the honor to be a K-9 officer. Collins had a love for dogs. He and Nikki, his fiancée, rescued/fostered and found them forever homes. Collin also loved training his K-9 partners, Clyde and Wolverine.He had a passion for supporting fallen law enforcement officers: He attended funerals across the country, named his K-9 Wolverine for a fallen officer and rode in the Police Unity Tour.Collin was shot on November 22nd, while patrolling an area that recently had a series of car break-ins. He died from his injuries on November 23, 2016 (E.O.W.) doing what he loved, in the city he loved.
