Gregory Proulx

Last summer I was visiting my brother and his wife at their home on Hammond Bay. I was sitting in a chair looking over the lake with my feet in the water while Greg stood next to me telling me stories. I looked up at him and smiled when I noticed the sunlight glowing through the green visor on his hat, turning his nose green. “Wait a minute,” I told him. “I’ve got to get a picture of this.” I asked him to survey his kingdom. This is a painting from the photograph. I call it the “ King of Ocqueoc” The text is a song from Cinderella. When Greg sang this song he was channeling one of his favorite philosophers- Jiminy Cricket. He could make me believe anything was possible.
