Ken Schaefer

Ken spent 14,440 minutes each day doing what he loved. Time was very precious to him. Not a day goes by that he is not thought of and cherished. Our hearts will forever miss his presence in our lives. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend and caregiver to his cats. He loved being outdoors, golfing, hiking, swimming, and grilling. He was a devoted Detroit Lions and Michigan State University Men’s Basketball season ticket holder. He loved listening to music and had many favorite songs He was a dedicated, hardworking Software Architect for the State of Michigan for over 20 years. He was loyal, trustworthy, dedicated, and faithful. His final gift was the gift of life…the gift of sight. Ken was able to restore vision in someone who can now see his first grandchild with a “new sense of clarity.” Ken made a difference in this world by becoming a donor. His memory will continue to live on. Just like a candle that lights many other candles, his flame will never diminish.
