Gift of Life Michigan Introduces Chief Mascot

Blue heart-shaped mascot at podium with American and Michigan flags behind them

Gift of Life Michigan welcomes Hartley T. Heart.

Hartley is Gift of Life Michigan’s newest employee, providing a light-hearted (pun intended) opportunity to engage people in a life-saving message. Hartley was designed as a fun representation of the Gift of Life logo, which features a blue heart being held by a green hand. Blue and green are the official colors of organ, eye and tissue donation across the country. Hartley has arrived just in time for National Donate Life Month in April.

As Chief Mascot, Hartley tours the state to meet children, adults and other mascots to celebrate the gifts of life, sight and mobility and encourage more family discussions about organ, eye and tissue donation.

Hartley’s state ID includes an organ donor designation with a red heart in the bottom corner, and Hartley pulls it out at every opportunity to encourage others to sign up on the Michigan Organ Donor Registry at golm.org/register.
